July 4 Parade details

Hi Neighbors!

We are officially one week away from the 4th of July – can you believe it!    I would like to share the details of the parade:

8:30am – Gather time at Barton Hills Market.
9:00am – Parade start time (led by Austin Fire Department Station 11 truck – YES !!!)
9:30am – Unofficial gathering at Barton Hills Elementary basketball courts (for those who want to do so)

*** Travis County Constables, Precinct 5, will be providing security and blocking Barton Hills Drive from Hollow Creek Drive to Homedale Drive.

Because of Covid still being prevalent and our youngsters under 12 years of age not being vaccinated (according to TX Health and Human Services 59% of residents of Travis County 12 years of age and older are fully vaccinated and 69% have one vaccine) the BHNA will not be holding the formal parade after party at the school.   But, if you do feel comfortable safely gathering with your neighbors at the basketball court please bring a chair and perhaps some water/beverages since the advance weather forecast says 89 degrees and high humidity.

We are still encouraging everyone (and their pets) to dress in their patriotic garb, and of course for all the kids to decorate their bicycles and wagons.

Since we are using the Barton Hills Market parking lot I would strongly encourage you to go inside and buy a breakfast taco or two and support our long time neighborhood business that has been so gracious to continually let us stage our parade at their business year after  year.

If you have any questions or comments please reply.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
