Dear Greenbelt Guardians,

We’re really late sending out a notice again, but we’re planning a workday in a little under 2 weeks and as usual, need all the help that we can round up!

We’ll be working on Saturday September 30th from 9:00 – 12:00 at the Gus Fruh access. It’s National Public Lands Day and along with our partners from Parks and Rec, we’ll be doing some trail repairs and runoff management, building some rock steps, removing invasives, trimming and weeding, and picking up trash in the area.

Please to let us know if you are available to volunteer that day. For the first time in several years we’re doing our own recruiting and registration, so you don’t have to log into a website to let us know you’re coming!

As usual, we’ll have breakfast tacos for everyone and plenty of water to refill your bottles. We have tasks that are appropriate for a wide range of ages and skill sets, so don’t think you’re too old or young to help. (We love kids, but younger ones should be sure to bring a parent along with them!) We’ll provide the team leaders and tools needed for all of the tasks. Please bring a water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes. Long pants and long sleeves help to protect against poison ivy, which, like everything else is thriving in the greenbelt right now due to all the rain we’ve had.

We’re looking forward to a good workday and hoping that lots of you can join us!

Thanks,
Stan Ostrum
