The City of Austin has requested we pass along the following information:

As you may know, the City of Austin is advising that people and animals not drink water or expose themselves for extended periods of time to Lady Bird Lake water until further notice.

Please post and distribute the attached fliers appropriately to help amplify the message. (English-Spanish / Simplified Chinese-Vietnamese)

Testing on the water is being conducted. Until we have test results, the City strongly advises that everyone minimize their exposure to Lady Bird Lake water.  As a reminder, it is illegal to swim in Lady Bird Lake. At this time, we have no reason to believe that boating is unsafe. When out on the lake, people should limit direct contact with the water to include accidental ingestion.

Lady Bird Lake is not a drinking water source, this issue is not affecting Austin’s drinking water supply.
