Hi Neighbors,

I am writing to let you know that the BHNA has decided to have the 4th of July parade procession down Barton Hills Drive, as is our annual tradition, but we decided not to do the official after parade party at the elementary school basketball court.

This is done as a safety precaution for all residents, as while most people have been vaccinated for covid, or at least around 50% according to city and county records, we think it is better to be safe than sorry, especially since the younger kids under 12 do not have vaccine availability and protection.

We plan on having Austin Fire Station 11 lead the procession, and Travis County District 5 Constables provide parade route security, and of course we strongly encourage the usual decoration of bikes and wagons, and if you have patriotic garb please wear it!   If people want to do an unofficial gathering at the basketball courts to visit with their neighbors, by all means bring a chair and perhaps a cooler with some water/beverages as of course it should be hot then.

We certainly hope you understand the situation.  I will post more parade details the week before the parade, as far as the gathering time/location and start time.  Feel free to shoot me any questions or comment … if they are nice!!

Hope to see everyone there!
