BHNA’s quarterly meeting is Tuesday the 22d at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Barton Hills Dr. We’ll serve dinner at 6:00pm and start the meeting at 7:00pm.
Mayoral candidate Steve Adler is joining us for dinner. He couldn’t attend the July 4th parade, as did candidates Sheryl Cole and Mike Martinez, so we’ll have the same opportunity to talk to him as we did the other two candidates.
We’ ll discuss traffic problems on Barton Hills Drive and the possibility of using various traffic calming techniques to address them. Apart from the proposal to close the school, I can’t think of a recent issue that affects us all more than this one.
Finally, we’ll also discuss proposals for how BHNA can spend the approximately $28,000 in our bank account to improve the neighborhood.
Please come and let your voice be heard. And remind your neighbors to come, too! I look forward to seeing you on the 22d.
Regards,
Tom Nuckols
BHNA President

In the recent July newsletter, one suggested “improvement” would be to rename Robert E Lee Rd. to Zenobia Way.
As a property owner on Robert E Lee and a board member at The Springs Condos, I want to say that we do not support such a name change. In fact, we strongly OPPOSE such a name change – as having an established, easy to spell and speak address is definitely preferable to a fanciful and difficult to pronounce street name which would need to be spelled out to everyone – and would only cause confusion and delay in emergency, transportation, customer service, and visitor situations – not to mention the confusion on legal documents.
So you have an entire community of residents who actually live on that street that are opposed to a name change! We would hope that you would not pursue such a change.
