From our Newsletter Editor Jennifer Ellen Cook:

ln an effort to gain more accurate demographic information for the neighborhood, please fill out this short survey if you live within the Barton Hills School District Boundary. Hopefully we can debunk the argument that we do not have young families living in the district http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/bhe_survey

Keep Barton Hills Elementary open

Hi neighbors,

As you may know, AISD is in a budget crunch right now and is looking for ways to cut costs. The AISD Facilities Master Plan Task Force met on December 14th and discussed ways to save money. Many of the ideas discussed include CLOSING smaller neighborhood schools – including our beloved Barton Hills Elementary School.

We cannot let this happen! WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please come to either or both of the following community meetings that will discuss the future of AISD Facilities.

WEDNESDAY JAN 12
6-8 pm
DELCO CENTER
4601 Pecan Brook Drive 78724 (view map)

THURSDAY JAN 13
6-8 pm
BURGER ACTIVITY CENTER
3200 Jones Road 78745 (view map)

For more information on the plan or to read the notes from the December 15th meeting click here and scroll down to the 15th Meeting.

I created a Facebook Page called Keep Barton Hills Elementary School Open. Please like this page and check back regularly for updates.
