National Night Out Tuesday Oct. 7

nno-2014-logo-300

National Night Out is Tuesday, October 7.  This is a time to turn on the outside lights, get together with neighbors to show your support for the elimination of crime in your neighborhood.  7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, residents are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, EMS, and firefighters.

Barton Hills has many traditional gatherings on this night.  Check out your street to see if there is a party planned.  To get a head start, join the Austin Police Department, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and other community partners for the 31st Annual National Night Out kickoff celebration on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mueller Airport Lake, 4550 Mueller Blvd (May show up on GPS as 4550 Mueller Central.)

The free event will have food, games, booths and live music by The Peterson Brothers Band. Additionally, this kickoff event will be a great opportunity for neighborhoods to “Stock Your Block” with informational pamphlets and brochures for National Night Out block parties on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

Barton Hills residents are always supportive of crime prevention efforts.  Make this year the biggest Night Out ever.
