July 4 Neighborhood Parade Information

Greetings Barton Hills,

Please come out on the 4th of July morning to participate in the annual Barton Hills Independence Day Parade and after party. Family, friends and visitors are certainly welcome !!!

We will be assembling at the Barton Hills Market at 8:30am. The parade will begin at 9am, with the procession led by Austin Fire Department Station 11 fire truck, and we will conclude at Barton Hills Elementary for the after party. Travis County Constable Office Precinct 3 will be providing traffic control for the event.

The BHNA executive committee is extremely happy to introduce our 2018 BHNA parade marshal Collins Van Nort. Collins is long time Barton Hills resident residing on Rockingham Drive. He is a 5th grade science teacher at Barton Hills Elementary and also has been an active participating member of the Greenbelt Guardians for over 10 years. We like recognizing neighbors who have a strong connection to our neighborhood and participate in our community and we feel Collins goes way above and beyond that description.

Our great Greenbelt Guardians, Brownie Troop 2543, and Cub Scout Pack 14 will be in the parade.

The Parade after party will be emceed by long time Barton Hills ambassador and previous BHNA executive board member Kay Killen.
We encourage everyone to wear their Red, White and Blue !!!!
We will be having a contest for the kids!
There will be prizes for the TOP 3 in the following categories:

– Decorated Bicycles
– Wagons/Carts
– Most Patriotic Pooch

The July 4 Neighborhood Parade is an annual Barton Hills tradition not to be missed! Mark your calendars now to meet at the Barton Hills Market at 8:30 AM on July 4 with your decorated bike, stroller, wagon, or pet. The Parade down Barton Hills Drive to the Barton Hills Elementary playground starts at 9:00 AM.

Guest Marshals for the 22nd annual BHNA 4th of July parade are Sunny and John Luther. After arrival at the playground Scouts will present the colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. We’ll sing the national anthem and enjoy games, cookies, cold watermelon, ice cream, and snow cones. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated float, vehicle, bike, pet, and more.

BHNA Parade Committee Chair Carol Mann is seeking volunteers to help with this festive event. You can contact her at ckm78704@gmail.com

Be sure to thank our generous 2015 Parade Sponsors!
